The Shōbōgenzō ("Treasury of the True Dharma Eye") is Dōgen's 13th-c. monumental masterwork — 95 fascicles composed 1231-1253. Central thesis: practice and enlightenment are non-dual ("shikantaza" — just sitting); being-time (uji) means each moment is being itself; the work is the major statement of Japanese Sōtō Zen and one of the most original Buddhist philosophical works.
