French's 2014 development of ontic structural realism — structures are all there is
The Structure of the World: Metaphysics and Representation is Steven French's 2014 development of ontic structural realism (OSR), the position that structures are ontologically prior to or replace any underlying object-ontology. Building on Worrall, Ladyman, Ross, and his own earlier work with James Ladyman, French argues for the radical conclusion that "objects are merely nodes in a web of relations with no independent reality." Foundational for contemporary ontic structural realism and the modern philosophy of physics.
