Foundations of Christian Faith
Karl Rahner's 1976 systematic introduction to his transcendental-Thomist theology
Tradition: Roman Catholic transcendental Thomism
Rahner's 1976 systematic introduction to his transcendental-Thomist theology
Foundations of Christian Faith (Grundkurs des Glaubens) is Rahner's 1976 systematic introduction to his transcendental-Thomist theology — central thesis: the human person is "spirit in the world", structurally open to the infinite mystery of God, and Christian faith is the explicit articulation of an implicit "supernatural existential" present in all human experience. The book is the major one-volume statement of Rahner's position.
