Moore's 1903 foundational analytic ethics — the naturalistic fallacy and the open question
Principia Ethica is G.E. Moore's 1903 foundational text of analytic moral philosophy — central theses: the "naturalistic fallacy" charges that defining "good" in terms of any natural property is a category error; the "open question argument" supports this; intuitionist non-natural realism about "good" follows; certain goods (love, beauty, friendship) have intrinsic value. The work was foundational for analytic ethics and for the Bloomsbury Group.
