Faust, Part Two (Faust: Der Tragödie zweiter Teil) is Goethe's 1832 culminating philosophical-symbolic drama — completed in his final year and published posthumously. Vastly more allegorical and philosophical than Part One; the work covers Faust's adventures from the imperial court through classical-mythological scenes (the Helena tragedy) to Faust's land-reclamation project and his ultimate salvation. The famous closing — "Das Ewig-Weibliche / Zieht uns hinan" (the Eternal-Feminine draws us upward) — encapsulates Goethe's late spiritual vision.
